Robert's Vision Extractor

A self improvement self taught personal life vision extraction framework.

Robert's Vision Extractor*

⚠️?A wise pilot knows the exact destination before trip starts.

* (Also known as the yellow legal pad exercise)

Tools required:

   % Blank yellow legal pad

  % Lead pencil with eraser

% 4 hours minimum of uninterrupted time. (Best results take 8 hours)

% Inspirational place. (stream, mountains, lakeside, fireplace, sea shore, rooftop patio, sometimes a quiet corner in garden, hotel lobby, spa resort, or library. )

   % snacks, water, sunscreen.

Forbidden: Alcohol, Drugs, other people, pens, cell phone, tablet, laptop, radio, cd player, ipod

Exercise:

1. Label your work. (Robert's Vision, or Robert's Mission, etc.

2. You are going to answer 2 questions, only 2, one on page 1 and the second on page 2.

3. First question: Who is (your name)? This will be in paragraph format. (Now you understand the eraser requirement.

4. Second question: What does (your name) want? List format of at least 20 wants. ( You must get at least 20 but don't number them until later.)

5. You are going to build a "to do" list of any distractions that come into your mind on one blank page hidden halfway through the yellow pages. Once you write one down, forget it until a later time. Example: "I forgot to pick up the dry cleaning " Immediately go back to the two questions.

What's the point? To hear clues from your inner voice, a still small voice. They say God lives within. Who goes around like a roaring lion? The adversary.

Procedure: Clear your mind. Enjoy the sights and sounds around you. Relax, breathing deeply. Thoughts will come into your mind. Put each thought on its proper page. Cast out, dismiss any negative thoughts (like: this is stupid, etc.) As you clean your mind, it becomes easier to "hear" a phrase or "see" an image. Diligently write these all down.

Tips:

Be as specific as you can. If you see a boat, describe it. Not "boat", but 24' Corinthian Sailboat with sails full of wind on blue water with mountains and clear blue sky in the background.

You may get tired because your brain is working hard. Simply take a short break, breathe, walk a little, stretch, then review what you have written and move forward, refreshed and relaxed.

The "still small voice" is always there. What changes is our ability to quiet our minds from useless worldly chatter so that we don’t miss the message in the whisper.

For the want list, imagine that you just won the lottery and the money is already in the bank.

Implementation:

Review every morning ? for at least a week. Adjust as clarifications are heard or seen. ( erase and re-write)

Start setting your compass on the right direction. Focus on hearing and seeing daily.

For now, keep things confidential.
